“Wok In Progress” is a 23-minute, bilingual sitcom series about the adventures and misadventures of two college drop-outs, one from South Africa and one from the U.S., as they arrive in Beijing to start a new life. At the same time, a noodle shop owner/would-be landlord and his daughter, whose dream is to study fashion in Paris, struggle to make sense of these two “laowai” (foreigners).
